AP sees peaceful, high turnout for NEET-UG 2025

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) 2025 was conducted smoothly across Andhra Pradesh on Sunday, 4 May, with over 70,000 medical aspirants appearing for the examination in all 26 districts. The test, held nationwide from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, was conducted under strict supervision, with district administrations implementing elaborate measures to ensure a fair and incident-free process.

High attendance was reported from the north coastal districts. In Srikakulam, 1,525 of the 1,550 registered candidates appeared, while Vizianagaram recorded 1,523 out of 1,550 candidates. However, attendance data from Visakhapatnam district was not available at the time of filing this report.

In the Godavari region, 2,812 candidates appeared in Kakinada, 2,690 in East Godavari, 1,847 in West Godavari, and 1,162 in Eluru. Rayalaseema districts also saw strong participation: Kurnool had 4,381 candidates, Nandyal 1,144, Anantapur 2,534, Kadapa 2,311, Tirupati 4,333, and Chittoor 677.

The southern districts recorded steady turnout as well, with 2,852 candidates in Nellore and 1,428 in Prakasam. In the central region, NTR district registered the highest attendance in the state, with 13,455 of the 13,625 registered candidates appearing across 23 centres. Guntur followed with 4,153 candidates across 16 centres, while Krishna district recorded 1,073 attendees. Bapatla saw 304 of 316 registered students appear for the test.

While a minor incident was reported in Tirupati, officials confirmed that the examination concluded peacefully and efficiently across the rest of the state, marking the successful conduct of one of the country’s most important entrance exams.
