IT and Education Minister Nara Lokesh has signed a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Meta India to accelerate the state’s digital transformation and foster innovation across various sectors. This strategic partnership aims to enhance digital literacy, support startups, and promote entrepreneurship in Andhra Pradesh.
The MoU was signed during Minister Lokesh’s visit to Delhi, where he engaged with top executives from Meta India. The collaboration is expected to bring cutting-edge digital solutions to the state, leveraging Meta’s expertise in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), virtual reality (VR), and augmented reality (AR).
Minister Lokesh emphasized the importance of this partnership in boosting Andhra Pradesh’s digital ecosystem. “This MoU with Meta India represents a major leap forward in our mission to build a digitally empowered Andhra Pradesh. Through this collaboration, we aim to equip our youth with the skills they need to succeed in the digital economy and foster a culture of innovation across the state,” he stated.
Sandhya Devanathan, Vice President of Meta India, expressed her happiness at signing the agreement with the AP government to provide civic services to the people of Andhra Pradesh through WhatsApp, utilizing Meta’s artificial intelligence services. She expressed hope that citizens would be able to access the services they need through artificial intelligence and the WhatsApp application programming interface, enabling the AP government to deliver better services using digital technology.
Meta India Director Ravi Garg, Director of Public Policy Natasha, IAS officers Yuvraj, and RTGS CEO Dinesh also participated in the program held at 1 Janpath in Delhi.
