Expressing happiness over the Supreme Court verdict on the categorisation of SC, ST reservations, the Madiga Reservation Porata Samithi’s (MRPS) Founder President, Manda Krishna Madiga, appealed to the governments of the Telugu States not to conduct recruitments till the categorisation of SC/ST reservations is over.
Speaking to the media after the Supreme Court’s verdict on the SC’s premises on Thursday, Manda Krishna Madiga said the SC made it clear that states have the authority to categorise SC/ST reservations. He said that many MRPS activists lost their lives during the movement that has been going on for the last 30 years. He said that MRPS fought to correct the injustice meted out to the Madiga community. Manda Krishna said that they are dedicating the Supreme Court verdict to the MRPS leaders who sacrificed their lives for the movement.
“I thank Prime Minister Narendra Modi for taking the initiative for the speedy process. I said on November 5, 2004, that ‘Dharma’ can be on any day. ‘Adharma’ is temporary and ‘Dharma’ will win in the end. Special thanks to the judges who gave a verdict in favour of us.
