State Minister for Industries, Commerce and Food Processing, TG Bharat, met Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw in Delhi on Wednesday night to discuss various railway projects. During the meeting, Bharat requested the introduction of new train services from Kurnool to Mumbai and Kurnool to Vijayawada.
Recalling that Kurnool was the capital of Andhra Pradesh when the state was formed, Bharat urged the central government to prioritise the development of the region’s railway infrastructure.
He also briefed Minister Vaishnaw on the upcoming industrial developments in the Orvakal Industrial Park in Andhra Pradesh. He emphasised that Orvakal is poised to become a major industrial hub and highlighted the need for better rail connectivity to key cities across India to support the region’s growth.
Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw responded positively to the proposals and assured that the railway services would be thoroughly reviewed. He acknowledged the importance of improving rail connectivity to bolster the region’s economic development and assured that the necessary steps would be taken.
