Minister for Tourism and Cinematography Kandula Durgesh reiterated that Andhra Pradesh would achieve a developed India (Vikasit Bharat) by implementing Vision 2047.
The Minister hoisted the national flag on the occasion of the 78th Independence Day at the art college grounds on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he remembered the sacrifices of freedom fighters. He recalled that India gained independence due to their sacrifices.
The Minister appealed to the people to dedicate themselves to the development of the country and the all-round development of the state, irrespective of caste, religion, language, or region.
The Tourism Minister stated that the alliance government under the leadership of Deputy Chief Minister Konidela Pawan Kalyan is taking steps towards a prosperous Andhra Pradesh.
Rajamahendravaram holds a unique position as the cultural capital of the state, he said, highlighting that it is the birthplace of freedom fighters and literary figures like Adikavi Nannayya, social reformer Kandukuri Veeresalingam, Durgabai Deshmukh, famous painter Damerla Rama Rao, Chilakamarthi Lakshmi-narasimham, and Garimella Satyanarayana, among others.
Minister Durgesh said that steps are being taken to further develop Rajamahendravaram, the district headquarters, as a city of historical, spiritual, and cultural importance.
Earlier, Minister Durgesh received a guard of honour from the police. Pigeons were released into the air as a symbol of peace and harmony. District Collector P Prashanthi was among those present
