APCC chief Sharmila’s dist tours to begin today

YS Sharmila Reddy, who has been appointed the new president of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), is planning to tour all 26 districts of the State, starting with Srikakulam on January 23 and concluding at YSR Kadapa on January 29. During her nine-day tour, Sharmila will conduct party district committee reviews with an aim to strengthen the party in the State before the election notification is issued.
During her visits to various districts, Sharmila will interact with people from all walks of life. She will also meet political party leaders. On the first day, Sharmila Reddy will interact with Uddanam victims and weavers in Pondur village.
In a press release issued by the APCC office on Sunday, the party leadership stated that the district tours aim to strengthen the party. Moreover, Sharmila will meet senior party leaders who are not active in the party affairs and encourage them to work more.
Sharmila Reddy will be conducting meetings with former MPs GV Harsha Kumar and Undavalli Arun Kumar, and Kurnool MP Sanjeev Kumar, who recently left YSRCP. The party is planning to conduct several meetings with unhappy leaders of the ruling YSRCP. Meanwhile, YSRCP leaders have warned their sitting MPs and MLAs not to leave the party after announcing the district tour schedule.
