The Andhra Pradesh Eastern Power Distribution Company Limited (APEPDCL) is working relentlessly to restore the power supply disrupted by recent rains. APEPDCL Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) Prudhvi Tej Immadi has stated that restoration efforts are being carried out on a war-footing, ensuring minimal disruption to essential services.
“Under the direct instructions of Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, Energy Minister Gottipati Ravikumar, and Energy Secretary K. Vijayanand, we are in constant communication with our officials through teleconferences. Our priority is to resolve power issues with maximum efficiency and speed,” said CMD Immadi.
To prevent any interruptions in vital services, special measures have been implemented. “We’ve issued specific directives to avoid any power cuts at government hospitals, cell towers, and emergency service offices. Generators, pole drilling machines, poles, transformers, and all necessary equipment have been deployed across section offices to expedite the restoration process,” Immadi explained.
The rains have severely affected 3,299 service connections and 56 agricultural connections across nine mandals and 60 villages in five APEPDCL circles. Thanks to the rapid response teams, 2,175 complaints were resolved within just one day. “Our call centre has received 2,583 complaints through the toll-free number 1912 and control room numbers, and our teams are working around the clock to address them,” Immadi added.
He also highlighted the continuous efforts of 32 special teams, consisting of 365 personnel, who are working tirelessly across the five circles. “Our teams are on the ground, working nonstop to restore services. We urge consumers to stay vigilant, especially around damaged electric wires, fallen poles, and transformers.”
For assistance with power outages, consumers can contact the toll-free number 1912 or reach out to their regional control rooms. Numbers include the Corporate Office (9440816373), Srikakulam (9490612633), Palasa (7382585630), Tekkali (7095875259), Vizianagaram (9490610102), Visakhapatnam (7382299975), Rajahmundry (7382299960), and Eluru (9440902926).
