The two-day 21st State conference of the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers’ Association (APNGO), which concluded here on Tuesday, saw the unanimous approval of significant bylaw amendments. This move has resulted in the renaming of the APNGO Association to the Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted, Gazetted Officers’ Association (APNGGO). The assembly also welcomed the resolution to extend membership privileges to Gazetted Officers, thereby ushering in a new era of inclusivity.

In addition to this crucial change, the conference issued several other resolutions aimed at streamlining the association’s operations. One such resolution pertained to the election of fresh committees aligned with the newly formed districts, arising from recent administrative district bifurcations.

Further, an emphasis was placed on enhancing female representation within these committees. Moreover, discussions centered around relocating the association’s headquarters, either to the state’s capital or another location as determined collectively by the association, to better serve its members’ needs. These significant resolutions, along with the bylaws amendments, are set to be forwarded to the state government in the near future.

Addressing the assembly during the second-day council meeting held at the Indira Gandhi Municipal Corporation (IGMC) Stadium in Vijayawada, APNGO Association president Bandi Srinivasa Rao underscored the organisation’s commitment to addressing the challenges faced by state employees. He stressed the importance of maintaining harmonious relations with the government while striving to fulfill employees’ demands. President Rao also noted that a range of issues, spanning financial and non-financial concerns, had been presented to the Chief Secretary of the state, Dr. KS Jawahar Reddy, with hopes of a swift resolution.
Rao made it abundantly clear that employees should not anticipate any announcements in their favor from Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

APNGO Association general secretary KV Siva Reddy conveyed encouraging news – the state government has consented to regularize contract employees, designating them as permanent staff. The association has also taken note of concerns raised by contract employees and acted accordingly.

Andhra Pradesh Government Advisor (Employees Welfare) N Chandrasekhar Reddy, All India Government Employees Association honorary president Suresh Lamba, APNGOs Association State committee leaders P Srinivasulu, Sk Nagur Sharif, B Janaki, Ch Purushottam Naidu, West Krishna president A Vidyasagar, secretary Md Iqbal, Media Committee Chairman VV Prasad, and several other distinguished participants.
