APSRTC Managing Director Dwaraka Tirumala Rao carried the coffin of APPTD Employees Union state president Y V Rao, who died of a heart attack here on the night of Friday.
APPTD state president YV Rao died of cardiac arrest last night and several leaders including CPI state secretary K Ramakrishna, MLC, and TDP leader Ashok Babu, AP JAC chairman Bopparaju, general secretary Dhamodar Rao and trade union leaders went to his house and paid homage.
However, APSRTC MD Dwaraka Tirumala Rao consoled the family members of the departed leader YV Rao and carried the coffin during the funeral.
The act of carrying the coffin of an RTC employees’ union leader by the APSRTC MD drew the attention of all. Being the APSRTC MD’s, carrying the coffin of a union leader won him accolades of all. The act of carrying the coffin of an RTC employees’ leader by APSRTC MD is exemplary, RTC employees said.
Speaking on the occasion, Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said that YV Rao was a sincere union leader and rendered great service. YV Rao was a friendly and soft-natured person and he used to be cordial with all and earned goodwill as a union leader, Dwaraka Tirumala Rao said. YV Rao was very cooperative in resolving the problems of employees, RTC MD said and his efforts in resolving the issues relating to the PRC are laudable, he said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy condoled the death of YV Rao.
In a message here on Saturday, the Chief Minister expressed shock and grief over the sudden demise of Y V Rao and conveyed his heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members.
