APSRTC wins national awards in 4 categories

The Andhra Pradesh Public Transport Department (APPTD), formerly known as the Andhra Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (APSRTC), has won the prestigious National Bus Transport Excellence Awards in four categories for 2023-24. These awards were conferred by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU), a Central Government public sector organisation.
APSRTC was recognised for excellence in Technology Initiatives, Fuel Efficiency (Highest Kilometre per Litre – KMPL), Non-Fare Revenue Generation, and Lowest Accident Rate. APSRTC Vice-Chairman & Managing Director (VC & MD) Ch Dwaraka Tirumala Rao, Executive Director (Zone II) G Vejayaratnam, and Deputy Chief Engineer (IT) Y Srinivasa Rao received the awards from former IPS officer Kiran Bedi at a ceremony in New Delhi on Saturday.
Expressing his delight at this achievement, APSRTC VC & MD Dwaraka Tirumala Rao credited the dedication of officials and staff for securing the prestigious honours. He noted that APSRTC has previously received several awards from the Central Government for its outstanding performance among state transport corporations.
He further stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, APSRTC would continue to expand and enhance its services, striving for greater efficiency and excellence.
