Andhra Pradesh Women Commission (APWC) has directed the Krishna district SP to conduct a detailed inquiry into the alleged rape and subsequent suicide of a 14-year-old minor girl.
APWC Chairperson Vasireddy Padma in a letter to Krishna district Superintendent of Police on Monday said that it is brought to the notice of APWC that a news published in a section of the press that a minor girl (14 years) who belongs to Pamarru village, had been sexually assaulted by two persons Lokesh and Narendra following which the victim had committed suicide.
The APWC has taken the case suo motu. APWC Chairperson Vasireddy Padma in the letter requested the SP to conduct a detailed enquiry and wants to have a detailed action taken report at an early date.
