In a major breakthrough in arms nexus, the Anantapur police seized illegal and unauthorised arms manufacturing units and unearthed nexus between arms manufacturers, dealer-purchasers of arms, and anti-social elements. The police arrested six notorious inter-state drug and arms peddlers.
AP DGP KV Rajendranath Reddy, on Monday in a release stated that the Anantapur police seized 18 weapons, 95 rounds of ammunition, and 6 extra magazines. The police seized Beretta, 9 mm Semi automatic pistol with 15 rounds, 9 mm pistol 03 with 15 rounds, 0.32 mm pistol 11 with 63 rounds, 1 Revolver, 2 Tapancha with 2 rounds.
The arrested accused were identified as Jamsheed @ khan @ Jeeshan from Bangalore, Ameer Pasha, from Bangalore, Riyazabdulshaik @ Riyaz Shaikh from South Goa, Rajpal Singh of Ummarti village in Warla Taluq of Barwani Dist in Madhya Pradesh State, and Nannu Suthar Adivasi, age 25 yrs, Ranjan Gaon village, Warla Taluq, Barvani Dist. Madhya Pradesh State.
The above said accused have cases registered in the States of Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Goa. An FIR was registered against them on December 25.
The DGP said that Anantapur district police achieved a major breakthrough in busting the nexus between fake currency – Ganja – illegal arms trade and rowdy elements. ‘Special Operation Teams’ of Anantapur district police under direct supervision of Dr Fakkeerappa Kaginelli, SP busted well-organized network of rowdy sheeters cum hired killers of Bangalore City having connection with fake Indian currency note (FICN) manufacturer based out of Bellary and Ananthapuramu.
In order to run their illegal activities unhindered, the Bangalore-based rowdy sheeters were procuring ganja from Shirpur of Maharashtra State and small arms from illegal manufacturing hubs of Madhya Pradesh. The Anantapur police ‘Special Operation Teams’ raided illegal arms manufacturing unit owned by Rajpal Singh at Umarti viz.,Warla Tehsil, Barwani District and took into custody Rajpal Singh who is arms manufacturer, dealer-cum-distributor and another person named Nannu Suthar Adivasi who is supplier of arms.
