Artificial limbs to be provided for 60,000 disabled people

In a commendable initiative aimed at enhancing the lives of individuals with physical disabilities, a four-day mega-camp is set to provide artificial limbs to over 60,000 people. The event, organized in Visakhapatnam, will be conducted at various locations, offering a significant opportunity for those in need to receive essential equipment.
Speaking to the media persons, Collector A. Mallikarjuna, outlined the details of the ambitious endeavour. He stated, “Those identified in these camps will be supplied with the necessary equipment by AlimCo, a leading artificial organ manufacturing center in Hyderabad.” The initiative underscores the commitment of both the government and private sector to addressing the needs of the differently-abled population.
The application process for availing these artificial limbs is scheduled to take place at different locations across the city on specified dates. The venues include Government Women’s Degree College premises on November 28, Chandraiyapalem Government High School on November 29, Gajuwaka Government High School on November 30, Vishnu Priya Function Hall on December 1, Government Primary School opposite Port Stadium on December 2, RK Beach on December 3, and Swarna Bharathi Indoor Stadium on December 4.
This comprehensive effort aims not only to provide physical support to individuals with disabilities but also to empower them to lead more fulfilling lives.
The strategic collaboration with AlimCo ensures that the artificial limbs supplied are of high quality and meet the specific needs of each recipient.
