Must read

In a significant anti-drug operation, the ASR district police, led by EAGLE (Elite Anti-Narcotics Group for Law Enforcement) IG Ake Ravi Krishna, successfully destroyed approximately 8 acres of ganja (cannabis) plantation in Patapadu village, Peddabayalu mandal. The operation was carried out with the support of local law enforcement officers, including SP Eagle Nagesh Babu, SP ASR Amit Bardar, DySP Paderu Pramod, CI G Madugula, and SI Pedabayalu.
This operation is part of an ongoing initiative to combat the illegal cultivation of ganja in the region. The police utilised advanced technology, including Drone Corporation of India services and AI tools, to detect and identify illicit plantations. A total of 2,000 acres in the ASR district have been surveyed by the Drone Survey team to address the growing threat of illegal drug production.
In addition to the operation, IG Ake Ravi Krishna and SP Amit Bardar directly engaged with the villagers of Patapadu. During their visit, they discussed the detrimental impact of ganja cultivation on the community and urged villagers to avoid participating in such activities. Under the guidance of IG Ravi Krishna, the villagers pledged to eliminate ganja plantations around their village and vowed to abandon illegal drug-related practices.
IG Ravi Krishna also assured the villagers that the police would assist them in transitioning to alternative, sustainable crops as part of their community outreach efforts. Patapadu village has been selected this year for the introduction of alternative crops to help farmers shift to more legal agricultural practices.
