Tension erupted at the Shadnagar Government Community Hospital when a staff nurse, Asha, was attacked by a patient’s relative. The incident occurred when a woman from the town, who had come to the hospital for vaccination, allegedly assaulted the nurse without provocation.
In response to the attack, the hospital’s medical staff staged a protest in front of the hospital, boycotting their duties. The protesting staff members demanded immediate action against the assailant, emphasising the need for strict measures to protect healthcare workers from such assaults while on duty.
Union leaders expressed their deep concern over the incident, condemning the attack on government employees. They highlighted the growing risk faced by healthcare workers and called for stronger protections and swift legal action against those who obstruct government duties and engage in violence against medical personnel.
The union leaders are preparing to file a formal complaint with the police, urging them to take strict action against the woman involved in the attack. The incident raised concerns among healthcare professionals, who are demanding increased security and support from the government to ensure their safety.
