What will be the fate of Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s Cbinet Ministers in the 2023 Assembly elections? At present in the Cabinet, there are 18 members, including the CM. Out of these 18 members three are MLCs and remaining 15 are MLAs. Among these 18 ministers except three, remaining all 15 are contesting in the 2023 Assembly elections.
Information Minister Patnam Mahendar Reddy and Home Minister Mohammad Mahamood Ali and Tribal and Women Welfare Minister Satyavathi Rathod are not contesting this time. In the 2018 Assembly elections, except four ministers, remaining all other ministers won their seats. Ministers Tummala Nageswar Rao, P Mahendar Reddy, Ajmeera Chandulal and Jupally Krishna Rao were defeated in the 2018 Assembly elections.
Among these four Tummala Nageswar Rao and Jupally Krishna Rao are contesting on a Congress ticket this time. While Ajmeera Chandulal died on April 15, 2021, P Mahendar Reddy was inducted into the Cabinet just before the 2023 Assembly elections and he is not contesting in the current Assembly elections.
Among the 15 ministers who are contesting in the 2023 Assembly elections how many are in the safe position and how many are in the danger zone is the discussion point in the political and BRS circles. According to sources, at least six ministers are in the danger zone as they are facing tough fight from the Congress and the BJP. Compared to 2018 Assembly elections, in the present Assembly elections, the number of defeated ministers is likely to increase.
Among the 15 ministers, after the Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, Finance Minister T Harish Rao is in the safest zone. Ministers KT Rama Rao, Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Talasani Srinivasa Yadav and others are also in the safe zone. But in the last minute, the fate of these ministers may also change. Ministers Sabitha Indra Reddy, Gangula Kamalakar, A Indrakaran Reddy and three more ministers are in the danger zone, according to political observers.
But the BRS circles are very confident that except one or two, remaining all ministers will win in the current Assembly elections. They say that though some ministers are facing bad weather in their constituencies, the image of CM KCR will help them in their victory. They also say in the current Assembly elections the victory of BRS depends completely on the image of CM KCR and his works done in the last 10 years.
