Walking along the lines of history, some culture and architectural beauty was the latest actress in line Avantika Dassani, also the daughter of desirable actress Bhagyashree.

Avantika made a name for herself by giving a blockbuster hit series titled Mithya opposite Huma Qureshi and since then she is only soaring to the heights of success. Very swiftly, she agreed to do a special travel tales segment with us and we get to hear a lot about her time in Bangkok.

“This trip to Bangkok almost fell like a homecoming, these trips are something that mom and I started as a ritual for taking short holidays together. It’s our favourite way to bond! Sometimes dad and brother tag along, however, we know how to reminisce about our time together and enjoy ourselves even though others are there.”

So very recently they went for a celebration and, “We celebrated my birthday at a lovely rooftop bar called Pastels and it had fabulous service. There were live performances by a musician playing the djembe and saxophones for us. Whenever on a holiday, I always look forward to a rooftop bar like this. There were other places like pastels where we went to grab some drinks and just take in the view of the Bangkok nightlife.”

Totally agreeing with us that sometimes the hotel that one chooses is a staycation on its own and describing to us her favourite hotel hues, she says, “There was a wedding to attend and we were staying at Avani and Riverside Resort, a stunning property with connected hotels. Give us an incredible view of Bangkok. So any spot where I can see a water body or sun setting is like my thing. Everyone knows I am a Bombay girl, grew up with the privilege of having Juhu Beach around but now that I have grown older I want some solace in the views that I see. It should be a lake view and I have never met a sunset that I can ever dislike.” Yes, she had a frightening moment too — “I went on a trip to Edinburgh with my best friend that included a bunch of haunted tours for us. Post having dinner, we went to our rooms and sort of tried to catch up with each other and didn’t realise the time. We rushed out hoping to make it our last tour and while we were walking we got lost on our way back. Really quiet and dark lanes, we crossed under a bridge and saw a huge castle looming over us and its shadow on the road. We ran our feet way back to the hotel, anyhow.”

The next location she would like to tick off her bucket list is South America. Why so? because she really wants to see the Bora Bora islands and Peru. It’s her dream destination! Sunny climate and a sandy beach will seal the deal for her. And if it’s about Peru, she thinks that while travelling if you watch multi-cultural and colourful places it liberate you even more.

Adding to it, “Shooting in Darjeeling, hands down became my favourite place. The tea plantations and a nearby forest were the best places to be at while shooting with Huma Qureshi.”

Though it was her debut, what a debut at a hill station!
