After some of her remarkable works in the industry like Maya and Vaisakham, to name a few, actress Avantika Mishra has got close to the Telugu audience in a very short span of time. Talking of her next project, she will be seen playing a pivotal role in the web series Athidhi. This web series also marks the OTT debut for Venu Thottempudi, and will be streaming on Disney Plus Hot Star Specials.
Athidhi web series is produced by director Bharat Vyji under the banner of Random Frames Entertainment. Famous director Praveen Sattaru is acting as the show runner. Athidhi will be streaming from 19th of this month on Disney Plus Hotstar. In this background, Avantika Mishra interacted with media and said about the experience of acting in Athidhi.
Offlate, Avantika has been doing regular Tamil movies and she shares that the makers approached her after seeing few of her Tamil films. “I want to try different characters in my career,” shares the Naya actress, who wanted to bring out a fresh look with Athidhi. “Since I was first introduced to the Telugu audience, I always want to earn a place in the hearts of the Telugu audience. I have done a character named Maya in this web series. Maya is a very beautiful girl who later turns up as a ghost. Basically, she is a mysterious woman. In the trailer, you just get to see a certain percentage of it. My character has many different shades.”
When the actress heard the story and read the script, Avantika was so intrigued by the story that she knew she had to do it. “Praveen Sattaru has designed this series very well. It combines thriller,fantasy, and horror genres. All this intrigues the audience to know what will happen next in the story. There will be unexpected twists and turns for the audience. Horror content is less in Telugu. It is a challenging character for me because I don’t want to be routine as an actress.”
Going ahead, sharing her experience working with Venu Thottempudi, she shares, “Acting with Venu garu gave a good experience. I was able to perform better with his advice. You all know how good his humor is as an actor. He is a good personality. They are very supportive with the costars.”
Every actor goes through various transformations and preparation in order to get into the skin of any character. In order to play her character Maya, Avantika had to change her body language. “I am very hyperactive outside. Maya is very calm. Emotions are all hidden in the mind. I am opposite to this character in real life. But when I came to the set, I tried to be like Maya’s character.”
She further shares that the web series cannot be compared with scripts like Arundhati and Chandramukhi. With entertainment formats having changed over time, her attempt is to reach all types of audiences. On the work front, she is doing another web series called Golisoda, and three Tamil films that are soon going to release.
