Avika Gor opens up on BTS of Shanmukha

Must read

The makers of the highly anticipated Telugu thriller fantasy Shanmukha recently had a special reason to celebrate. On Avika Gor’s birthday, they unveiled her character, Sara, hinting at an unforgettable cinematic journey. Directed by Shanmugam Sappani and produced by Thulasi Ram Sappani under Sapbro Productions, Shanmukha is set to captivate audiences with its unique blend of thriller and fantasy elements. With music composed by the acclaimed Ravi Basrur, renowned for his mesmerizing scores, the film is already generating significant buzz.
Avika Gor, known for her versatile performances, steps into the role of Sara, a character brimming with mystery and intrigue. The film’s hero, played by Aadi Sai Kumar, adds another layer of excitement to this dynamic narrative.
Reflecting on her experience with the talented team behind Shanmukha, Gor shared, “The director had his immense clarity. He knew exactly what he wanted and that makes the actor’s job easy. Working with the music director, Ravi sir, I think it’s a once-in-a-lifetime kind of an opportunity because he is pretty big in the South and to get a film which has his name along with it, it itself is a big dream come true. So an absolute honour to be a part of a project that he is also a part of. And I can’t wait to see the final product because, yes, we work hard as actors, we see how it works. But music after the edit really adds a lot of depth to the movie.”
Discussing what audiences can expect from Shanmukha, Gor said, “The story has romance, the story has drama. Of course, you know, when it comes to VFX and the thrill and the fantasy element, all of that is of a very, very good level. And the way our director and our makers have created the whole idea, the whole story and the whole film is something that really people will like because it has a lot of emotions, it has a lot of depth to it. And I’m very, very excited because Telugu audiences really like experimental films and experimental concepts. They are just done with the usual conventional kind of films and they want something out of the box. And I think this one is going to be that in my career because it is very different from what I’ve done earlier. And even as a concept, it is very thrilling to be a part of something that is so experimental and so huge. And it is definitely going to be something people are going to like. Adi, the hero, has done a very, very good job and I can’t wait for people to watch the film and see this side of him and me. Both of us together, I think we’ve done a really good job in the film.”
Expressing her excitement about the film’s release, she added, “The most exciting aspect is that Ravi sir’s work, the music, is going to be the highlight of the film because we have all watched his work, especially in KGF and other films of his. We know that he is a masterclass in himself. And to be a part of something that he’s been creating is an honour, as I mentioned. That’s definitely going to be the biggest plus of the film. And aside from that, the story, the way it has been narrated, Adi being a really good actor and the way he has performed. There’s a good amount of action, emotion, romance and drama.”
Reflecting on memorable moments from the shoot, Gor shared, “I think the most memorable would be going on set and always asking the director and my hero, ‘What are we up to today?’ That excitement and curiosity of doing something truly unbelievable at times. And just the idea, the title Shanmukha, is so meaningful. When you watch the film, you’ll realise that every detail—whether through music, acting, or characters—holds a lot of value. It has turned out very, very nice and it’s in the process of post-production right now. We cannot wait to share more details.”
With such an enthusiastic and talented cast and crew, Shanmukha promises to be a remarkable addition to Telugu cinema, blending thriller and fantasy elements in a way that is sure
to captivate audiences.
