The CBI has completed the hearing of witnesses in the murder case of B Pharm student Ayesha Meera. She was found murdered in the hostel’s bathroom at Ibrahimpatnam near Vijayawada on December 27, 2007.
Ayesha Meera’s murder had created a sensation in the erstwhile Andhra Pradesh. Her parents have been waiting for justice for the past 15 years.
CBI Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) CR Das and his team questioned the witnesses at the CBI camp office near the railway station in Vijayawada on Wednesday.
Adv Venkata Krishna Prasad and a witness attended the hearing. The CBI team questioned the lawyer for many hours.
In view of the witness examination at the CBI camp office, media persons had reached there. Adv Venkata Krishna Prasad spoke to the media after the hearing.
He said that no arrest had been made in the case so far. “It has been 15 years since Ayesha Meera’s murder and her family members are begging for justice,” he added.
“The CBI team asked me about the details of this case. I wrote an inquest report after the murder,” he said.
He said that they also enquired about the injuries on Ayesha Meera’s body and the details of the officials who were on duty at the time when the murder case was registered, he said. He added that they had been waiting for justice and that they had confidence in the CBI.
