B.Ed colleges to be inspected

Education Minister Botsa Satyanarayana has said that the officials will conduct inspections to determine the quality standards in the B.Ed Colleges. He held a review on the higher education department with Principal Secretary (Higher Education) J Syamala Rao and AP State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman Prof K Hemachandra Reddy on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion he said 93.38 percent of admissions took place in the degree colleges. About 3,15,600 students joined the higher classes out of 3,37,987 students who finished their Intermediate.

The Minister said, “There is no truth inn the propaganda that the admissions in the Degree courses were decreased earlier. In 2018-19 only 79.63 percent, and in 2019-20 only 88.19 percent of the Intermediate students got admitted to higher education courses. About 1.20 lakh students took admissions into Engineering colleges, 12,000 in Pharmacy, 5000 in Agriculture and Aquaculture , 15000 in Medical and Nursing 1.48 lakh in different Degree courses, 5600 students in IIIT, and about 10000 joined in the other states in graduate courses.

He instructed the Vice Chancellors of the Universities to take measures for the quality of Education in the BEd colleges. He also held a review with VCs virtually and instructed them to inspect whether the BEd colleges are following the NCTE standards before renewal of affiliation. He directed them to finish the BEd admissions after inspections.
