VIJAYAWADA: In a tragic incident at KL University in Guntur, a first-year B Tech student, Sourav Deep (19) from West Bengal, allegedly committed suicide by jumping off the hostel building under Tadepalli police station limits in Guntur district on Monday night. The incident has left the university community shocked and saddened. According to the police, the incident occurred just two days after Sourav Deep had taken admission to the engineering course. The police investigation has not revealed any suicide note, leaving the reason behind this extreme step unknown.

The authorities acted swiftly and rushed the student to a nearby private hospital in an attempt to save him. However, despite the best efforts of the medical staff, Sourav Deep was declared dead.
