BJP national general secretary and MP Bandi Sanjay Kumar alleged the biggest scam in Telangana after the Kaleswaram scandal took place in the State Civil Supplies Department. He demanded that a probe into the “scam” be handed over to the CBI.
He visited Nalgonda to campaign for the BJP candidate in the MLC by-poll from Warangal-Nalgonda-Khammam Graduates’ constituency. Speaking to the media here, he demanded Minister for Civil Supplies N Uttam Kumar Reddy respond to the charge of corruption in the Civil Supplies Department.
He wondered why the Civil Supplies Department which acted as a middleman for procuring paddy and handing the produce to the Food Corporation of India should suffer losses. Some leaders of the Rice Millers Association were accused of bribing of ruling party. He alleged that several leaders had received kickbacks from rice millers in the past and demanded an inquiry into the matter.
Bandi Sanjay said that the Centre helped the State buy boiled rice. In the same way as the previous BRS government and the KCR family, the Congress leaders misappropriated thousands of crores of rupees and transferred the “ill-gotten” money to Delhi, he said.
He said that KCR turned the Nalgonda district into a desert. “The BRS government destroyed all sectors. The Congress government too is following the same path,” he said.
