BJP Lok Sabha member and party’s national general secretary Bandi Sanjay Kumar on Saturday accused the family of former chief minister K Chandrashekar Rao of grabbing Rs 500 worth of Bhoodan lands. He also alleged that the illegal activities of former MP Vinod’s family in the name of Bhoodan lands were also true.
Speaking to the media at Shyampet, the BJP leader demanded that the Congress government headed by A Revanth Reddy order an inquiry into the Bhoodan lands. The probe would bring the scandal into open, he said.
He wondered why the Congress government has been shying away from ordering a CBI inquiry into the alleged corruption and defective works in the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. He recalled that Revanth Reddy, during the campaign for the Assembly elections, demanded a CBI probe into the Kaleshwaram project issue.
He exuded confidence that the BJP would win at least 350 seats in the forthcoming Lok Sabha elections. He was optimistic about his party’s chances of winning all 17 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana.
He appreciated the gesture of the Union Defence Ministry to part with its lands for the construction of an elevated corridor on the Hyderabad-Ramagundam-Karimnagar highway.
It is the responsibility of the Congress government in Telangana to implement the promised six guarantees, he said.
He alleged that government officials have been denying benefits under the scheme meant to prove LPG cylinders at Rs 500 to the poor.
There are an estimated 90 lakh white ration card holders in Telangana. He demanded that the State government ensure that the eligible people get the benefits.
Bandi Sanjay said that he would take part in the public meeting to be addressed by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Adilabad on March 4.
He said that the Prajahita Yatra would be suspended on March 8 and 9 in connection with the Sivaratri festival.
