Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, highlighted Andhra Pradesh’s growth potential under the ‘double engine’ government at the ‘Rozgar Mela’ in Visakhapatnam. He emphasised the combined efforts of the central and state governments in driving rapid development, particularly in tourism, leveraging the state’s abundant temples and scenic destinations. “With this double-engine government, Andhra Pradesh has the potential to grow at a rate we haven’t seen before,” Sanjay Kumar said.
“If we focus on development over politics, we can truly transform the state.” The Rozgar Mela saw the minister handing appointment letters to 110 newly appointed government employees, showcasing the government’s commitment to job creation.
Sanjay Kumar noted that approximately 10 lakh Central government jobs are being created, with around 8 lakh positions already filled nationwide. “Today, appointment letters are being distributed to 51,000 people nationwide,” he shared.
“This is a testament to our Prime Minister’s vision of employment and self-reliance for India’s youth.” India’s economic growth under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership has been remarkable, rising from 11th to 5th in global rankings, to reach third by 2028. Sanjay Kumar attributed this to the “Atmanirbhar Bharat” initiative, promoting self-sufficiency across sectors like agriculture and technology.
Sanjay Kumar also emphasised the Central government’s welfare schemes, including Jan Dhan, which facilitates direct benefit transfers, minimizing inefficiencies and reducing losses. He commended the Mudra loans, which have fostered self-employment by providing loans of up to Rs 20 lakh, enabling entrepreneurs to start and grow their businesses. The Minister also highlighted major infrastructure initiatives in Andhra Pradesh, such as the Tribal University, AIIMS, and IIT, as well as enhanced medical facilities and ESI hospitals. The Polavaram project has received Rs 13,500 crore, with over Rs 15,000 crore allocated for the development of Amaravati.
“Projects like the Visakhapatnam-Raipur Express Highway and the South Coastal Railway Zone are set to redefine connectivity and opportunities in the region,” he noted. “The Center is fully committed to Andhra Pradesh’s growth.” Sanjay Kumar concluded with a call for unity, urging support for Andhra Pradesh’s development vision. “Andhra Pradesh has the full backing of the Modi government. By setting aside politics, we can achieve the progress and prosperity that the people of Andhra Pradesh dream of,” he asserted.
