District Collector Venkatesh Dhotre said that bankers should work towards achieving the annual targets for the financial year 2024-25.
On Thursday, he chaired a review meeting with bank officials at the Integrated District Collectorate Building here. The meeting was attended by State Bank of India Regional Coordinator Surjeet Karthikeyan, SLBC convenor Srihari and other officials.
During the meeting, the Collector urged the bankers to work in coordination with the officials to achieve the assigned loan targets for this financial year. He also directed bankers and SERP (Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty) officials to ensure that 100 per centof Self-Help Group (SHG) bank linkages are completed.
The Collector called for proactive measures to ensure that eligible beneficiaries are provided employment through loan disbursements under government schemes such as PM Swanidhi, PM Employment Generation, MUDRA, and Startup India. He also stressed the need to expedite the release of subsidy funds for loans granted through the Scheduled Caste Welfare Corporation and Tribal Welfare Corporations. Additionally, he urged authorities to encourage and support workers in the unorganised sectors to gain employment and improve their financial conditions.
