In spite of opposition parties’ criticism and dissidence in the parties, both Telugu Chief Ministers have more faith in the voters than in the leaders. Both the Chief Ministers have a lot of faith on the welfare schemes being implemented by them in their respective states.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy are implementing several welfare schemes in the last four years. The welfare schemes being implemented by the Telugu Chief Ministers reached almost every house in their respective states.
Some people are getting the benefits of more than one welfare scheme. After announcing the candidates list by the BRS, dissidence in the party leaders is growing. Some dissident leaders left the party. However, CM KCR is confident on a hat-trick victory of the BRS in the upcoming Assembly elections.
Leaders may leave the party but the voters who are benefiting from the government never leave the faith on the State government, commented a senior BRS leader. Compared to the previous elections, now the number of beneficiaries have increased in the State. CM KCR hiked the amount of pensions to some categories. The recent decisions of CM KCR helped increase the vote bank of the BRS. While the BRS candidates have faith on CM KCR’s image for their victory KCR has faith in the voters for the BRS victory. Meanwhile, in Andhra Pradesh, CM YS Jagan also has a lot of faith on the welfare schemes being implemented by his government.
The YSR Congress leaders say that the vote bank of their party significantly increased in the last four years. No state government is implementing the welfare schemes promptly like their government, say YSR Congress leaders.
People are scared that if any other party comes to power they may stop the welfare schemes being implemented by the YSR Congress government.
The main opposition parties, the TDP and the Jana Sena in the past criticised the schemes being implemented by the YSR Congress government and alleged that the government is throwing the State into a debt trap. But now both the parties have changed their mind after coming to know how scared the people are losing the welfare schemes. Both TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan are assuring the people that they will implement more welfare schemes than the welfare schemes being implemented by the present YSR Congress government.
The BRS leaders in Telangana say that if all the beneficiaries vote to their party they will win more than 100 Assembly seats out of the total 119 seats. In the same way, the YSR Congress leaders in Andhra Pradesh say that if all the beneficiaries vote to their party, it would be easy to win all the 175 Assembly seats as being claimed by their CM Jagan, who says why not 175?
