Uttam asks NALSAR VC to increase intake of local students

Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister Capt. N. Uttam Kumar Reddy assured full support for strengthening the judiciary’s infrastructure in Telangana.
He was addressing the Capital Foundation Society’s annual awards and lecture programme at the NALSAR University of Law on Saturday. The event was attended by Attorney General R. Venkataramani, Chief Justice of Telangana High Court Justice Alok Aradhe, NALSAR University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Srikrishna Deva Rao and other dignitaries.
Uttam highlighted the introduction of 20% reservation for local students at NALSAR by an earlier Congress Government. He requested the VC to increase the intake of local students.
Recalling his long association with NALSAR, Uttam said the university is emerging as the country’s top law school.
Expressing the Telangana Government’s highest regard for the judiciary, he said a world-class High Court complex was coming up on 100 acres at Rajendranagar in Hyderabad. The foundation stone has already been laid, and the new HC complex will be ready soon. He also assured Chief Justice Alok Aradhe that courts would have excellent facilities.
Uttam pledged to convey the suggestions received at the event to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
Renowned environmentalist Prof. K. Purushotham introduced the Capital Foundation, while former Supreme Court judge Justice AK Patnaik gave the welcome address. The annual lecture on ‘Technology, Law and Humanity’ was delivered by Attorney General Dr R. Venkataramani.
Uttam also launched a basic course on the Constitution in Telugu. Chief Justice and NALSAR University of Law’s Chancellor Justice Alok Aradhe released Justice Leila Seth’s book ‘We, the Children of India, The Preamble of our Constitution’ in Telugu translated by Shridevi Muralidhar and published by EMESCO Books Pvt Ltd of Hyderabad.
