Emphasising the importance of not forgetting our State’s unique roots, culture and traditions, even when reaching great heights, said Minister for Tourism and Culture Jupally Krishna Rao, while participating in Bathukamma celebrations on Sunday as part of his two-day visit to Dubai.
Dubai tourism officer Jasim Mohammed Al Awadi and government whip Adi Srinivas also attended the event organised by the Tourism department at a hotel.
On this occasion, Jupally discussed the role of tourist destinations in the country’s progress and economic development. He explored strategies used in Dubai to develop tourist spots in Telangana, focusing on generating revenue and employment.
The Minister emphasised that in today’s age, the erosion of cultural traditions and family systems leads to societal problems. He stressed the importance of preserving these traditions for future generations and advised using wealth for the good of others.
The Bathukamma festival, reflecting Telangana’s culture and women’s power, was celebrated enthusiastically in Dubai.
Jupally appreciated the Telangana diaspora for maintaining their traditions and urged industrialists and NRIs to contribute to better education and healthcare for the underprivileged as a part of their social responsibility.
