Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka held discussions with the Telangana BC Commission at the Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Praja Bhavan regarding concerns raised during the commission’s recent tour of erstwhile districts.
The commission also deliberated on the need for legal amendments to grant it more powers, emphasizing that strengthening the commission’s authority is vital to address the concerns of BC communities effectively.
The discussions covered procedural challenges and the legislative steps required to implement these changes.
The meeting focused on objections regarding caste name changes and other grievances submitted by various communities.
BC Commission Chairman Niranjan, along with members Rapolu Jayaprakash, Tirumalagiri Surender and Bala Lakshmi Rangu, presented their findings from the commission’s visit to 10 erstwhile districts. They detailed the requests received from communities and engaged in an extensive discussion with the Deputy CM on their implications.
