The State government is committed to providing loans through the BC Corporations to all eligible beneficiaries, with measures in place to ensure that the units are established within the stipulated two-month period, stated S. Savitha, Minister for BC, EWS, Handloom, and Weaving Department.
She announced that the deadline for submitting applications for units being offered by various corporations, including BC, EWS, and Kapu Corporations, has been extended to February 12, following requests from beneficiaries.
On Thursday, Minister Savitha conducted an awareness meeting on loan utilisation at BC Bhavan in Gollapudi, Vijayawada. During the session, she emphasised that loans are being provided under self-employment schemes aimed at improving the welfare of backward classes. She also pointed out that the financial year 2024-25 is drawing to a close in just two months, and immediate action is required to identify eligible beneficiaries.
The Minister highlighted the importance of ensuring that the financial aid is used effectively, creating awareness among beneficiaries, and ensuring that the units are established promptly.
In response to requests from beneficiaries, Minister Savitha announced that the deadline for submitting applications for self-employment opportunities through BC Corporations has been extended to February 12. She instructed district officials to inform the beneficiaries about this extension. The Minister also advised coordination with Tahsildars to avoid any delays in issuing caste and income certificates.
Additionally, she assured that concerns regarding the allocation of additional funds for the BC Corporation, raised by the chairpersons and directors of the corporations, will be communicated to the Chief Minister for resolution.
Chairpersons Veeranki Gurumurthi, Dundi Rakesh, Nandam Abadhayya, Sadasivam, Devendraappa, Krishnan Naidu, Chilakalapudi Paparao, Savitri, PVG Kumar, Mallu Surendra, K. Sushilamma, P. Yashasvi, and Narasimha Yadav, along with several directors, were present at the meeting.
