BC unions ask BJP to clarify stance on  SC, ST, BC quotas

R Krishnaiah, President of National BC Association, stated that the opposition parties, especially the Congress Party, CPI-M, CPI and other parties are accusing the BJP party of conspiring to change the constitution and scrap SC/ST/OBC reservations. But BJP has failed to rebut once and for all. About 13 BC Sanghas have demanded that the BJP party should make a clear statement on the reservations provided to the Backward Classes. The meeting of BC unions was held under the chairmanship of Gujja Krishna Neela Venkatesh on Sunday.
He said that the BJP party has been in power at the Center for ten years but not a single plan has been made for the welfare of the BCs. In addition, some reservations were given to upper castes. It is free from the doctrine of reservation.
“We are demanding that caste census be done and reservations be provided basing on population. The Center is not paying attention to the demand for the Constitutional amendment as a permanent solution, he added.
The President of National BC Welfare Association said that they are fighting to ensure that reservations go up to 50 per cent, for setting up a special ministry, allocation of two lakh crore budgets for education and self-study of BCs, to make reservations for AP/ST/BCs in private sectors – to put SC/ST/BC reservations in the High Court and Supreme Court.
“They are not paying attention to the demand for caste census in the census, educational schemes for BCs at the center and constitutional measures for the development of BCs. The Prime Minister should announce clear statement about them”, he added.
He criticized the fact that the Prime Minister, being a member of the BC caste, did not resolve even a small demand for the development of the BCs, saying that the 70 crore BCs of the country could not digest it. After 76 years the share of 70 crore BC people in the country will not be given to BCs? This is a democratic country BCs are not beggars and if shareholders don’t give their share there is bound to be a coup. This is justice. Bharata Mata urged everyone to observe justice.
He warned that if injustice is done to the BCs, there will be a rebellion. Even now, the BJP party should adopt a pro-BC attitude and announce that they will implement 50 percent reservation in legislatures. It should be announced that a fee reimbursement scheme will be implemented for BCs at the national level, a scholarship scheme will be implemented, and a budget of two lakh crores will be earmarked annually for the development of special ministries. India will emerge as a top country only by developing the BCs who are the majority of the people.
