Be in touch with people

Must read

PNS | Hyderabad

TRS supremo Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has reportedly decided to take a class for party leaders at Tuesday’s joint meeting of the TRS legislature party and the party’s executive committee.

KCR strongly believes that there is a huge gap between the people and the party and this is due to the attitude of party leaders. The Munugode by-election has alerted the TRS leadership. The TRS leadership thinks that with hardly a year to go before the next Assembly elections the gap is likely to continue and the party will face problems during the Assembly elections. Even after deploying around 100 MLAs, MLCs and 12 ministers and with the support of the Left the TRS candidate could manage only a majority of around 10,000 votes. The TRS brass thinks that this shows the gap between the party and the people.

During Assembly elections, it is not possible to deploy the entire party in every constituency like in Munugode. The TRS leadership thinks that only if party leaders are regularly in touch with the people and concentrate on solving their problems it is possible to reduce the gap between the party and the people. After renaming the TRS as BRS and for entering national politics a victory in the TS Assembly elections has become crucial for KCR. If TRS wins the Assembly elections then KCR’s image will get a boost at the national level and that will give confidence to the opposition that KCR can take on the BJP.

If the TRS loses the Assembly elections KCR will lose his image and the national opposition may not take KCR seriously. So KCR thinks that the victory of the TRS in the next Assembly elections is crucial for his entry into national politics. Keeping this in mind  KCR has reportedly decided to take a class for TRS leaders and get them ready for the next Assembly elections.

KCR may ask MLAs and other important leaders to leave Hyderabad and go to their Assembly constituencies. He is likely to ask the MLAs to go to the people and be in regular touch with them. He will ask them to create confidence in the people that the TRS can solve their problems. At the same time, KCR will ask the MLAs and other party leaders to give extensive publicity to the welfare programmes being implemented by the TRS government. He will ask them how the Centre led by the BJP is ‘discriminating’ against Telangana and its people. KCR will also ask them to ensure that not a single TRS leader leaves the party as the BJP is trying to attract them through its ‘Operation Akarsh.’

Sources said that there are chances of KCR appointing constituency in-charges. KCR will warn MLAs that if they do not improve their public image he will change them and give party tickets to new faces in the next Assembly elections.
