Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka has vowed to make Telangana a power surplus state soon by building thermal power projects and solar power projects and the state. Telangana will soon be in a position to offer power to other States, he has said.
He, along with Information Technology Minister D Sridhar Babu, on Saturday laid the foundation stones for the projects to be launched at a cost of Rs 88 crore under AMRUT 2.0 and developmental works to be taken up at a cost of Rs 57.50 crore under TUFDC.
Later addressing a public meeting, chaired by Ramagundam MLA Makkan Raj Singh Thakur, at Godavarikhani main junction, Bhatti Vikramarka, delivering a long speech, assured the people of Ramagundam that the government would ensure that SCCL and TS Genco jointly establish an 800 MW super critical power plant in place of the TS Genco power plant in Ramagundam city at a cost of Rs 800 crore.
The guidelines pertaining to the power plant would be released soon, he said.
The BRS regime that ruled Telangana for over 10 years had cheated the people as well as the SCCL workers. Former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, who could not even waive crop loans of farmers up to Rs 1 lakh, should feel ashamed to criticise the Congress government’s loan waiver policy.
The Congress has been implementing the election promises one after another, he said, adding that the government is committed to develop all Assembly constituencies in Peddapalli district.
Sridhar Babu declared that a rural technology development centre would soon be set up in Peddapalli and Ramagundam Assembly constituency limits to provide employment to at least 1,000 persons per year. He said that the government would build 2 BHK houses to the eligible persons here soon.
