CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka warned the BRS government against privatising the Singareni coal mines (SCCL).
Bhatti said that SCCL employs about 1.15 lakh people and nearly 60,000 jobs would be lost if it is privatised.
Bhatti was addressing a corner meeting at Tandoor in Mancherial district on the 13th day of his People’s March ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo Yatra’ on Tuesday.
During his speech, Bhatti acknowledged the state’s unfulfilled goals, such as access to water, funds and jobs and vowed to address these issues if the Congress is elected.
He said that after Telangana’s formation, the state had not progressed. As an example, he mentioned the Congress government’s distribution of 198 houses in Tandoor Mandal, which continue to lack proper infrastructure.
The CLP leader accused KCR of betraying Dalits by not distributing the promised three acres and not delivering on the pledge of one job per household. He questioned the utilization of the Rs 18,000 billion state budget and asked whether the funds were used to construct homes, create jobs and provide water. If Congress comes to power, Bhatti promised to compensate the losses caused by natural disasters and to offer land and financial assistance of Rs 5 lakh for constructing houses. He also said the Congress would supply LPG at Rs 500 a cylinder.
