Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, located atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada, is all set for the Bhavani Deeksha Viramana. The process of the Bhavani Deeksha relinquishment will begin at the Mallikharjuna Maha Mandapam on the temple’s premises and later, the temple authorities will allow devotees to have Durga Devi darshan at 6.30 am. The devotees will be allowed from 3 am to 11 pm in the remaining four days.
The five-day event is expected to be attended by more than six lakh devotees. The NTR district administration is making all necessary arrangements for them. The Durga Temple authorities, with the collaboration of other departments, have made all facilities for the Bhavani devotees.
For the children who come to the temple along with the Bhavani devotees, the temple authorities have implemented the Child Monitoring System (CMS) as per NTR District Collector Dr G Lakshmisha’s directions. Under this system, the temple authorities will register the details of children at various counters and tag the QR code band to their wrists. In case the children go missing, the security, festival staff and others will scan the QR code to get their information.
Meanwhile, Endowment Department Principal Secretary and Commissioner S Satyanarayana, along with Durga Temple Executive Officer (EO) KS Rama Rao, Executive Engineers KVS Koteswara Rao and T Vykunta Rao inspected the arrangements for the Bhavani Deeksha Viramana.
He visited the queue lines, Sivalayam stairway, Irumudi points, coconut crushing area, Homa Gundam, Kanaka Durga Nagar Prasadam counters, and Tonsuring Hall at Seethammavari Padalu, besides the holding points and bathing ghats. He expressed happiness over the arrangements.
NTR District Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu convened a review meeting with the police officials regarding security and traffic diversion. Also, Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Commissioner HM Dhyanachandra is focusing on drinking water supply and maintenance of sanitation in the city.
On the other hand, the temple authorities implemented a strong technology system for the success of the five-day event. For the convenience of the devotees, the temple authorities have introduced a special app. By using the app, Bhavani devotees can identify the holding areas, parking areas, drinking water, health and other facilities.
Additionally, the police have set up an Integrated Command Control Room at the Model Room. The district authorities have arranged bathing showers at various ghats in River Krishna. The Collector held a special meeting with Telecom Network and Internet Service Providers to ensure uninterrupted services during the five-day Bhavani Deeksha relinquishment.
