The Congress Government introduced the Bhu Bharati Act to deal with land disputes, Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar said.
Ponnam was speaking while attending a Bhu Bharati Revenue Awareness Conference in the Janagama village of Akkannapet mandal in Husnabad Assembly constituency on Wednesday.
Addressing the meeting, he said that land disputes increased due to the Dharani Act passed by the BRS Government. Landowners faced a lot of problems due to the Dharani Portal although the land belonged to them.
“We introduced the Bhu Bharati as assured to the people during elections. We brought Bhu Bharati in a manner that will protect the self-respect of the landowner. We are solving the problems of the farmers by setting up helpdesks,” Ponnam said.
He said that there were instances in which the landowner was shown in one place and the land was shown in another place.
