Billy Ray alleges being ‘physically, emotionally’ abused by his ex-wife

After Firerose, his ex-wife, accused him of violence, Billy Ray Cyrus has been in the news. Cyrus asserts that his former partner abused him “physically,” “verbally,” and “emotionally” in a new court filing that was submitted on June 24 in Tennessee.
The documents read, “While the plaintiff would acknowledge that he was certainly vocal, frustrated and angry with the defendant in May 2024, it is the plaintiff who, in fact, has been abused. Not only verbally and emotionally by the defendant, but physically abused by the defendant.”
In addition, Cyrus refuted the “mind boggling” accusations made against him regarding his abuse of Firerose. The manager of Cyrus, Scott Adkins, claimed in an affidavit to have seen the statements made by the Achy Breaky Heart hitmaker.
The Australian artist accused the 62-year-old of abusing him, and he even refuted a message she wrote for him when she moved out of their premarital apartment. The alleged note that was offered as proof stated, “I am so sorry. Please give me a chance to make this right. I can explain everything, but I need you by my side.”
The country music icon says that Firerose threatened to ruin his career if he tried to get a divorce. This is in reaction to her allegation. He asked her about a last name he was unfamiliar with, and that’s when she made the threat. Cyrus claims that Firerose threatened to disclose to the public that he was seeking a divorce because she required a double mastectomy. Furthermore, Cyrus claimed that Firerose had known for four years that she had a BRCA1 gene mutation, which raises her risk of breast cancer, but she had not told him about it until after they were married.
The only people supporting Cyrus’ “false claims,” according to a Firerose representative, are “on his payroll, whose credibility is questionable.” They went on to say that Cyrus had cruelly manipulated her, saying “the audacity to question a BRCA-positive woman’s decision to undergo preventative surgery shows cruel manipulation.”
On June 14, Firerose stated that her double mastectomy was scheduled for the day before her husband filed for divorce in May. She claimed Cyrus branded her a “selfish f***ing bitch” and put her “into an emotional and psychological prison.”
Cyrus filed for divorce on May 23, almost seven months after they were married, citing irreconcilable differences and unacceptable marital behavior as the grounds behind the breakup.
