Bima Lokpal Day observed; grievance redressal discussed

The office of Insurance Ombudsman in Hyderabad organised Bima Lokpal Day. Grievance redressal methods were discussed during the programme.
The programme was held at the Federation of Telangana Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FTCCI) office. Debashish Panda, Chairperson, IRDAI, emphasised the need for an element of trust that is the cornerstone of the insurance sector.
BP Acharya, Chairman of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI), Advisory Committee, who was the chief guest, highlighted the need for speedy disposal of complaints through Bima Bharosa portal by using helpline 155255. He complimented N Sankaran, Hyderabad Ombudsman, for cent per cent disposal of complaints received and many through mediation. Shyam Sundar, Zonal Manager of LIC, and many consumers attended the meeting.
