Several activists of the BJP joined the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) under the leadership of Minister for Forest A Indrakaran Reddy on Wednesday.
Soan mandal unit president Myaka Prem Kumar, ward members Ganta Mahender, Srikanth, Pesari Damu and others migrated to the BRS.
The BJP activists, who migrated to the BRS, said that they had decided to join the ruling because Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has been implementing several welfare schemes for the benefit of the poor.
The Minister presented pink scarves to those who joined the BRS.
The activists expressed confidence that the BRS would retain the Nirmla constituency. They further said that they had decided to quit the BJP because the saffron party leadership became arrogant and it was ignoring the cadre.
