The BJP leaders of Telangana want a full time president for the party. The current President, G Kishan Reddy is in New Delhi most of the time as he is busy with his Union Coal and Mines Ministry. State BJP leaders have a feeling that they have a ‘Visiting President’ for the party. Moreover, the BJP’s leadership have assigned him additional responsibilities like being the BJP’s election incharge for Jammu and Kashmir where Assembly elections will be held in September. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Modi made it clear that Union Ministers will have to stay in New Delhi from Monday to Friday. The other Union Minister from Telangana, Bandi Sanjay Kumar, himself revealed this. In this context, BJP leaders in Telangana have been saying that they want a full-time President for the party. Otherwise, the party will lose the tempo that it got by winning eight LS seats and it may affect its prospects in local body elections, one BJP leader told ‘The Pioneer.
