BJP & Congress competing with each other in making promises

Must read

The BJP and the Congress are competing with each other in showering assurances on the people of Telangana thinking that they will come to power in the next elections.

In fact, the assurances of both these national parties are almost the same with minor differences. However, the leaders of both parties are showering assurances at all public meetings and press conferences.

The BJP’s Telangana President, Sanjay, made several assurances on Sunday. He said that the BJP will fill the two lakh vacancies in TS government service immediately after coming to power and that they will release a job calendar on the lines of the UPSC without giving any scope for leaks.

Sanjay has been making these assurances since a year. The BJP leaders are saying that they will not let go of BRS leaders like KCR, KTR and daughter Kavitha for engaging in corruption.

Union Tourism Minister G. Kishan Reddy warned on Sunday that they will investigate the corruption scandals and land grab cases including the ORR lease given by the BRS government if the BJP comes to power.

BJP leaders said they will implement the Fasal Bima Yojana and other schemes in Telangana immediately after coming to power and also provide free education and medical services.

The Congress has also given many assurances to the people of Telangana. The Congress released its Warangal Declaration last year through Rahul Gandhi stating that it will scrap the Dharani Portal immediately after coming to power.

The party also assured people that it will waive loans up to Rs 2 lakh taken by farmers and will give title deeds for Podu lands etc.

On Monday, AICC General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi will release the Hyderabad Youth Declaration at the Saroor Nagar Grounds, which showers promises on the unemployed. She will say that the promises made by the Congress will be implemented immediately after coming to power in Telangana.

The Youth Declaration will promise a pension of Rs 25,000 per month to the families of Telangana Martyrs who died in the first and last phases of the movement. The Congress will also promise Rs 4,000 per month to the unemployed as an unemployment allowance.

TPCC President Revanth Reddy and CLP leader Bhatti Vikramarka have been making several assurances to the people of Telangana during their padayatras.

On Sunday, Bhatti Vikramarka assured the people of Telangana that the Congress will take back assigned lands, which were taken over by the BRS government forcibly, and hand them over them to the beneficiaries after coming to power.

“The BRS government had taken away about 10,000 acres distributed to the poor by the Congress government in Ibrahimpatnam constituency. The value of the lands seized from the poor by the BRS government is Rs 5,000 billion. The lands distributed to the poor by the Congress would be given back to the poor. After the Congress forms a government it would formally give title deeds again to the poor,” Bhatti said.

Telangana Congress In-charge Manikarao Thakre said that if the Congress makes a promise it would fulfil it and that it had implemented the promises it had given in Chhattisgarh and Rajasthan.

In Telangana too, after the Congress forms the government, each and every promise given to the people would be kept, he said.

The question is who will come from the BJP and the Congress to power after the Assembly elections.

A voter named Ramulu from the erstwhile Nalgonda district said that the assurances of both parties are good but the question is who will come to power.

“The BJP and the Congress did not take up any serious problem faced by the people of Telangana in the last nine years. But they are giving assurances like the BRS. My doubt is what the people would do if they do not come to power as they had failed to do their duty as the opposition?” Ramulu said.
