PNS | Mahabubnagar
BJP activists on Thursday staged a protest in the town demanding the dismissal of Minister for Prohibition and Excise Minister V Srinivas Goud from the State Cabinet.
Earlier, a rally was taken out from the BRS office to the Telangana X roads here raising slogans against the Minister and seeking the dismissal of the Minister from the State Cabinet.
State Executive member NP Venkatesh, while addressing the demonstrators, pointed out that Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao did not dismiss the Minister from the Cabinet even as the Nampally Court found fault with the election affidavit submitted by the Minister. He said that the action of the Chief Minister was tantamount to insulting the people of Telangana.
The Minister claimed to be innocent and said that he had secured clean chit from the court, the BJP leader said, alleging that they were false.
The Mahabubnagar police had been directed by the Nampally court to take action against all officials who helped the Minister submit the faulty affidavit to the EC, he said calling it a surprise.
KCR, responding to a complaint lodged by a man against Etala Rajender, dismissed him from his Cabinet, but not taking action despite there being a strong case against Srinivas Goud, he said adding that he was at a loss of comprehension on what is going on in the government.
BJP district president Veera Brahmachary, leaders Jayasri, Ravi Kiran Reddy, Anjaiah, Chinnakistaiah and others took part in the event.
