BJP Andhra Pradesh spokesperson Lanka Dinakar has congratulated the state’s Education and IT Minister, Nara Lokesh, for initiating the Skill Census, aimed at assessing the current skills of the youth in Andhra Pradesh. The initiative seeks to upgrade these skills to provide better employment and business opportunities, contributing to a more prosperous and developed Andhra Pradesh and, ultimately, a stronger India.
In a statement released on Sunday, Dinakar commended Lokesh for making Andhra Pradesh the first state in the country to implement a Skill Census in a meaningful and impactful manner. He emphasised that the initiative will yield positive results for the entire workforce, particularly benefiting young students by providing them with the right opportunities.
He added that this programme could serve as an ideal and exemplary model for other states to follow.
Dinakar highlighted the importance of a good education combined with relevant skills, noting that this combination can greatly enhance job and business prospects for youth. He pointed out that many graduates and postgraduates struggle to find suitable opportunities and are often forced to settle for less. Continuous skill upgradation has thus become essential.
At this critical juncture, Nara Lokesh has aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of youth skill development to build India as a global leader.
He further noted that the Union Government has allocated Rs 2 lakh crore in the 2024-25 Budget for skill development, aimed at creating employment and skilling opportunities for 4.1 crore youth across the country over the next five years. Minister Lokesh appears to be positioning Andhra Pradesh to be at the forefront in taking advantage of this opportunity.
