Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy warned BJP leaders that they will take a step that the BJP office address will have Gaddar’s name by naming the area where BJP office is located after Gaddar if BJP leaders speak mistakenly about Gaddar again. He warned that they will not keep quiet if anyone speaks dishonouring Gaddar again. Congress government won’t hesitate to name the area where BJP office is located after Gaddar, CM said.
The CM said that the BJP leaders would face double fate the BRS leaders meted out for making Gaddar sit in front of the Pragathi Bhavan for hours. He said that the Centre did not give Padma award to Gaddar though the State government recommended his name and hence the State government named Nandi film awards after Gaddar.
CM Revanth Reddy said, “Naming awards in the name of Gaddar is nothing but remembering him every year. We have medicine for everything. Those who insulted Gaddar in the past were punished appropriately. We will not keep quiet if spoken in an inappropriate manner”.
The CM said that he used to take advice while going to balladeer Gaddar whenever he was of the feeling that he was politically alone. However, Gaddar used to say that ‘you perform your responsibilities and people would definitely identify you and Gaddar’s word has become a reality’. CM said that Gaddar had lived for the ideals he believed till his last breath.
While participating in Gaddar’s birth anniversary celebrations at Ravindra Bharati on Friday, CM Revanth Reddy said that the Congress government recommended the names of Gaddar, Goreti Venkanna, Chukka Ramaiah, Ande Sri and Jayadeer Thirumala Rao to the Centre for Padma awards. However, the Centre gave five Padma awards to the neighbouring State.
The CM said, “I addressed a letter to the Centre thinking that it will correct its mistake. Instead of correcting their mistake, they are saying that they will not give the award to Gaddar. BJP leaders are saying that they are giving Padma awards”.
He said that Gaddar did a lot for the society. He said that the previous BRS government tried to avoid Gaddar when he died and did not allow Gaddar’s body in LB Stadium.
“We will take decision to establish Gaddar’s memorial on Necklace Road”, CM said.
