In a scathing comment, Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) president, Gidugu Rudra Raju, accused the leaders of BJP, which he humorously claimed stood for “Babu, Jagan, and Pavan,” representing TDP, YSRCP, and Jana Sena Party, of failing to condemn the ongoing violence and attacks in Manipur.

Speaking at a press conference held at the Andhra Ratna Bhavan in Vijayawada, Raju questioned the leaders’ silence and emphasised that various organisations across the globe and political parties in the country have expressed their concerns about the Manipur incident.

The APCC president highlighted that even though the Supreme Court of India had taken suo moto cognizance of the violence and attacks against women in Manipur, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had not provided a response.

Raju warned the YSRCP and TDP that if they continued to refrain from supporting the proposed no-confidence motion by the INDIA alliance, the people would teach them a lesson.

He further disclosed that the Congress party had formed the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA) and proposed a no-confidence motion in both Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha regarding the Manipur incident.

Expressing disappointment, Raju alleged that the ruling YSRCP and the opposition party TDP had not lent their support to the no-confidence motion.

He specifically pointed out that despite having 31 MPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, the YSRCP had failed to endorse the motion, as had the representatives of the TDP in both houses. However, he praised the Congress party for condemning the statements made by these two parties against the bill.

Taking a strong stance against JSP president Pawan Kalyan, Raju demanded answers from him on why he had not responded to the attacks and violence against minorities and Christians. He called into question Pawan Kalyan’s claims of following left-wing and Cheguveera’s ideology, asserting that such assertions were false.

APCC Working president Sunakara Padmasri, Legal Cell Chairman V Gurunadham, Mahila Congress President L Tantia Kumari, Congress Party Vijayawada City president Naraharasetti Narasimha Rao, AICC members Kolanukonda Sivaji, Meda Suresh, and others were present.
