Aiming to win more than 10 Lok Sabha seats in Telangana, the BJP is intensifying moves in the state. The party is conducting two-day state-level meetings on January 7 and 8.
BJP leaders Sunil Bansal, Tarun Chugh and Arvind Menon are attending these meetings to discuss the formation of Lok Sabha election committees, the selection of candidates and the strategies to be implemented during LS polls.
It may be recalled that Union Home Minister Amit Shah had come to the state and warned party leaders to work seriously and to end their internal wrangling. Amit asked party leaders to aim to win 10 seats and a 35 per cent vote share.
The party has already hinted that it will give tickets to sitting MPs and it is learnt that the party has selected five more candidates. Interestingly, many leaders are now coming forward to contest elections.
Leaders like DK Aruna, AP Jithender Reddy, P. Muralidhar Rao, Chada Suresh Reddy, Konda Vishweshwar Reddy and many others are in the run for tickets.

The party may discuss strategies in constituencies like Khamma, Nalgonda, Mahbubabad, Peddapalli and some other constituencies where the party has no strong candidates. The party may launch Operation Akarsh in these constituencies to provide a serious contest from the BJP side, it is learnt.
