After winning the Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) held victory celebrations at the BJP office in Vijayawada on Sunday. Party workers raised ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ slogans and distributed sweets.
AP BJP president Daggubati Purandeswari, senior leader Sadineni Yamini Sarma and others participated in BJP’s victory celebrations.
Speaking on the occasion, Purandeswari said that the people of Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Chhattisgarh voted for development and they believed that their dreams could be fulfilled only by the BJP. She praised the Election Commission of India (ECI) for the smooth conduct of the elections. During the elections, many political parties offered money and other gifts for the voters, however, they voted for the BJP, she said.
Further, she said that the BJP secured 42 per cent of votes in Rajasthan, 49 per cent in Madhya Pradesh, and 46 per cent of votes in Chhattisgarh. In Telangana, BJP registered a win. BJP candidate Venkata Ramana Reddy defeated both Chief Minister KCR (BRS) and CM candidate Revanth Reddy (Congress), she said.
She said the people of Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh voted against corruption while the BJP’s vote share increased in Telangana State. The number of MLAs in the Telangana Assembly has increased, she said. BJP State general secretary B Sivannarayana, Kisan Morcha State president Chigurupati Kumara Swamy, Minority Morcha State president Sk Baji, and others were present.
