During the month of Ashada, the grand Bonalu festival is celebrated with great splendor in Siddipet city, showcasing the richness of Telangana’s culture and traditions. State Minister of Finance and Health, Harish Rao, stated that the festival is bringing joy to the people beyond caste and creed. He expressed his prayers to the deity, seeking prosperity, abundant rainfall, good crops, and the well-being and happiness of the people during this auspicious time in Telangana state.

Not only in the entire state of Telangana, but also in countries like the United States, New Zealand, Australia, Europe, and various other nations, Telangana residents are celebrating the Bonalu festival, making efforts to preserve our region’s culture and traditions, as emphasized by Minister Harish Rao. As part of these festivities, special prayers were performed by visiting the renowned Sri Renuka Ellamma temple in the fifth ward of the city during the Bonalu Jatara festival.

In this context, Minister Harish Rao spoke and conveyed that the Bonalu festival is celebrated with great devotion by the people of Telangana in the month of Ashada, showcasing their traditions. They dedicate the Bonalu offerings to the goddesses as per their custom. He conveyed the importance of praying to the deity for the well-being of the people’s health and protection from evil forces. He emphasized the responsibility on each of us to protect the traditions and customs that are coming down through generations, whether we stay in the country or go abroad. The practice of cultivating and nurturing this tradition by uniting all is being encouraged. A large number of devotees are visiting the Bonalu festivals of Pochamma, Maisamma, and Ellamma in the city and receiving the blessings of the goddesses. Devotees, along with family members, visit the village goddess Ammavaru for special darshan. Women offer bangles, sarees, and other items to the goddess with great devotion at each temple.
