In a disturbing incident, a village volunteer is alleged to have physically assaulted an 11-year-old boy, causing him to sustain severe injuries, including fractures in his legs, hands, and spine. The incident occurred in Kunupur village, situated in the Korukonda mandal.

According to the boy’s mother, the accused village volunteer, identified as Kalyanam Satish from Kanupur, became infuriated with the young victim, Talloju Sashidhar, also known as Siva, for failing to comply with his orders. Satish reportedly had instructed the boy to procure a cigarette for him, a request that was met.

However, things took a violent turn when the volunteer, accompanied by Siva and another boy, physically assaulted Siva with repeated slaps.

In a fit of rage, Satish pushed Siva from a building, resulting in grievous injuries to the young boy’s limbs and spinal cord. Subsequently, Siva was rushed to the Government General Hospital for treatment.

While the incident occurred on August 11, it came to light only on Friday.
Sub-Inspector Sarada Satish confirmed the arrest of the accused volunteer, Kalyanam Satish, who has since been presented before the court.
